Popeye to the Rescue! Who would have thought this leafy green vegetable could help cut your cravings on the Plan Z Diet

Popeye to the Rescue!
I started researching options for a new entrée recipe using spinach. I just couldn’t help myself. I wanted some spinach. I also started to do research on why I was craving spinach, of all things.
Your body craves things to give you a signal that it needs help in a certain area. Or a combination or areas. Spinach is chock full of Vitamin K and has a great deal of Vitamin B. When you satisfy your craving for spinach you accomplish several things:
Here’s HUGE News! Spinach actually helps cut cravings for other things! When you are six days into a diet like the Plan Z Diet your body is calling out cravings. Interesting thing is that doesn’t mean you’re hungry. Your brain controls cravings. Your body controls your hunger. Your brain is trying to tell you something. Your brain is trying to tell you to either fix this problem or you might go off the deep end and blow your diet. Sound familiar? Most people blow their diet before a week is over, and the vast majority before week 2 is over. Most people would not think to cure their cravings for chocolate, chips or other junk foods by eating spinach. But it works. So eat a spinach salad. Eat an entrée like my Plan Z Diet Spinach Chicken that uses a lot of spinach or even do one of those spinach smoothies to squelch your cravings in your recent attempt to lose weight.
If you are experiencing any of these things, get out Popeye’s favorite food.
Other things spinach can do:
Stress. Spinach is a great stress reducer. Your body is telling you it needs more Vitamin B. You can get Vitamin B other ways, including taking the pill version, but eating a couple of cups of spinach will help.
Leg Cramps. I often get leg cramps in the middle of night when I'm on the Plan Z Diet. Over 50% of Americans over 40 years old have the same issue as me. Your body is trying to tell you it needs more magnesium. Spinach is a good source.
Are you tired? Most folks who are into health know that spinach is a good, natural iron source. Iron helps when you’re tired. So does red meat. So have creamed spinach with your steak at that steak house.
Worried about osteoporosis? Spinach helps build bone health and helps maintain your bone strength.
Is your eyesight failing? You need to go to a doctor to get this one checked out but if you’re suffering from macular degeneration, eating spinach can be one of your treatment methods.
Suffering from High Blood Pressure? Spinach can help with that too.
Spinach can be eaten hot or cold, (cooked or raw). And when you cook it up, it shrivels down, so you can eat quite a bit of it without having to feel like a rabbit. Just 3 cups of RAW spinach will give you 402% of your recommended daily allowance! That’s huge! And that same amount will fill ½ of your Vitamin C allowance too. Lastly it’s a great source of fiber. Getting your fiber from whole foods (that means real food, and not things from a box, like those things you see advertised on TV) is a much better way to true health.
So when you craving sweet or salty things on the Plan Z Diet, know you have an option besides giving in and blowing your diet. Eat spinach and carry on.
Cheers,
