9 Things You Never Knew About Your Heart

9 Things You Never Knew About Your Heart

I’m devoting this article to the heart – our most vital organ.

Taking care of your heart starts with a good diet like the Plan Z Diet, but here are some other facts about the heart that you might not have known. When you’re done reading these, check out our delicious Plan Z Diet dessert that you can make for your sweetie (or yourself) without guilt:

Big Yum!!!

Heart Trivia:
  • In under a minute, your heart can pump blood to every cell in your body.
  • Most people think the heart is on the left side of your body. The truth is your heart is dead center in the middle of your chest, though it feels like it’s over to the left because the largest part of your heart is on the left.
  • I Left My Heart in San Francisco was the 19th most-performed song of the 20th century.
  • We heart coffee, and so does the heart. Scientists found a link between coffee drinkers and heart health.
  • Your heart is not heart shaped; in fact, it looks more like a fist. A cow’s heart is much closer to a heart shape.
  • This one is kind of sad…according to the two billion-word Oxford English Corpus; the adjective most often used to qualify the noun ‘heart’ is ‘broken.’
  • The King of Hearts is the only king without a mustache in a standard deck of playing cards.
  • The heart of a blue whale is the size of a Mini Cooper.
  • Chocolate cake is the most popular dessert served on Valentine’s Day.

But you don’t have to do that! My suggestion is to have a romantic dessert at home. Make a healthy dessert like my Plan Z Diet White Chocolate Custard with Strawberry Coulis before you leave for dinner. Then come home, cozy up together and have dessert with each other.

My husband and I do this often when we go out for dinner. When we're on the Plan Z Diet we skip the restaurant dessert and have something healthy when we get home. This white chocolate crème brulee is easy to make and truly decadent.

Cheers,
