Plan Z Diet
Sugar is in just about everything. If it doesn’t have sugar in it there’s probably High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). HFCS is worse than sugar.
So you’re at the point in The Plan Z Diet by Zola where you have probably finished detoxing. For some, detoxing is not a fun experience. Getting the sugar and the preservatives in processed food out of your system can be painful. You can get dizzy. You can get headaches. Your stomach can cramp. It all feels bad. But didn’t you learn something from it? If it felt so bad coming out, didn’t that likely teach you that putting it in to begin with was a bad idea? It might have been a great tasting bad idea, but nevertheless it was a bad idea.
We asked you to go “cold turkey” on the sugar on the Plan Z Diet and that was unfair, but there’s really no “half-way” on that one. Better to get it over with, and over with as fast as possible.
So now you are shopping. You are buying fresh food and eating healthy. Not so bad is it?
You might still be tempted to want something sugary, but I am hoping that those mental cravings are beginning to die down. Your body will crave them less and less on the Plan Z Diet. Once it’s out of you, your body will begin craving things that are good for it instead of the evil sugar. When you are reading this if you think I sound like someone at a drug rehab clinic, you aren’t that far off. Sugar can be an addiction.
For the few things you are going into the middle of the grocery store to seek out on the Plan Z Diet, we have asked you to read labels. You are working to make sure there’s nothing on the label that’s on your Plan Z Diet BAD list. The biggest things are sugar and HFCS. You’re beginning to learn it’s in everything. One form of sugar or another is in way too many things. Artificial sugars too.
Aspartame alone is in over 6000 products on the grocery shelves, in the bakery aisle and in the freezer section. That stuff is poison.
But the food industry is crafty. They know that some of you are looking out for what’s bad for you, so they disguise these things with scientific names designed to throw you off. They don’t call it sugar because they know if you see the word sugar you’ll put it down and look for another option. So they use other names for sugar, the technical ones.
What we’ve done at the Plan Z Diet is given you a laminated card with all the current names for sugar on it. This is an important reference piece for you to use when you are checking labels.
Check everything. Even your vitamins. I was working with a woman on the Plan Z Diet by Zola who was losing weight much slower than the average so we began checking everything she was eating to find the culprit. She didn’t forego her multi-vitamin during the diet because it came from a very reputable company. She checked for the words sugar and starch on the label, and not seeing them, thought she was safe. She didn’t use her reference sheet for sugars hidden by fancy names. Turns out there were no fewer than six versions of sugar in her “healthy” vitamins. No wonder her loss was slow.
Check everything you are putting in your mouth for sugar. Your weight loss depends on it. And your liver and pancreas will thank you.
Cheers,
